During the day, we have workshops for beginners, improvers, intermediates/advanced dancers, and for Cross Body On1, Cross Body On2 and Cuban style dancers. 90 workshops altogether - plenty for everybody!
We've got café-style social dancing during the day, a chillout area and a salsa marketplace selling dance shoes, CDs etc plus offering head to toe massages..
In the evenings, everyone can enjoy world-class entertainment from some of the best salsa performers in the world - a feast of dancing not to be missed!!
There are 2 party rooms for evening dancing, playing a variety of music to suit everyone's tastes from your Salsa favourites through to Salsa Dura plus Reggaeton, Merengue, Bachata and Cha Cha Cha.
Also, why not take a break from salsa and sample the rich diversity of Manchester's café and restaurant scene or do a bit of Christmas shopping at Manchester's Christmas markets? The venue could not be more convenient for everything Manchester has to offer.
 Private Tuition
GBSEx offers a rare opportunity to take one-on-one lessons with some of the world's greatest salsa talents here in Manchester.
If you’re interested in taking a private lesson with Tomas Guerrero, Susana Montero, Hacha Y Machete or Salsa Tipica perhaps, we’ll be facilitating this over the weekend and providing a private space in which to take your lesson.
The number of classes per instructor will be limited so if you are interested please contact Nicky directly who will take your details, organise your timeslot and liaise with the instructor.
 Please note that pricing is at the discretion of the instructor and ranges from £50 to £100 per hour. Fees will be paid directly to the instructor at the time of the lesson. Failure to cancel in advance of 21st November will result in full payment being due.

 FOCUS ON DJ LUBI’S ‘HISTORY OF SALSA’ LECTURE
Lubi Jovanovic has been working in the salsa music business since 1986 in the UK and further afield. Nowadays as DJ Lubi...
Lubi plays across the world at clubs, festivals and congresses from Los Angeles to Singapore. However, he has also promoted many of salsa's finest artists live in concert and on tour. These include Eddie Palmieri, Jimmy Bosch, Wayne Gorbea, Issac Delgado, Johnny Polanco, Manolito y su Trabuco, Son 14, Ricardo Lemvo, Alfredo de la Fe, Charanga Habanera to name a few. Since 2003, he has been working as a CD compiler for half a dozen labels and has produced 35 compilation CDs, including 8 for the world's greatest salsa label of all time Fania Records.
Lubi will be giving a one hour lecture on the History Of Salsa, an introduction to the subject that will cover the following topics: What Is Salsa? - Cuban Roots - Puerto Rican Migration To New York 1920-1940 - Afro-Cuban Jazz in 1940s New York - Mambo Kings and the Palladium - New Sounds, New Styles 1960s - Birth of NYC Salsa 1971 - Salsa from the 1980s until today. There will be visuals and sound extracts included in the lecture as well as a bibliography of sources and recommended discography.

Get warmed up for GBSEx at our Pre-Congress Party on Thursday night! The Party will feature the brilliant Hacha Y Machete from Boston teaching their unique Rhythm and Body Movement workshop and performing their latest incredible show 'Cinturita'! We're thrilled to be able to involve HYM in GBSEx, who were previously unavailable due to another commitment.
DJs on the night, our residents Mike Parr an dChris Mee, plus special guests Mauri and Yuchi from The Netherlands in 2 rooms.

Don’t be disturbed, it’s the usual great party celebration, but if you fancy getting dressed up as Morticia, Dracula, Slasher or anything dark or moody, hey you don’t scare us! We’ve also invited international guests Orville Small and his group (Salsation, Holland) to perform their ‘Mummy’ show and teach a class plus Sally McCairn (Pure Salsa, Cambridge) teaching Beginners.
