Your feedback comprised very few complaints about workshops. There were problems in a few individual classes which we've taken note of. These included lack of rotation, too many participants and class content too difficult/too easy. Overall, there were significantly fewer complaints about lack of rotation/poor teacher organisation in classes than the previous year, which is great!

We did get a few complaints about uneven male:female ratios in classes. This is a difficult one... We do, of course, have the ability to enforce equal male/female ratios within workshops through our workshop booking system. However, if we enforce equal numbers, it will mean the number of places for women in classes will drop significantly. This is because there are far fewer men who want to learn salsa than women. It's a nationwide problem - sad but true!

Rather than significantly reducing places for women, we try to ensure 'sensible' numbers (with class rotation) such that there are enough men to make the class worthwhile for both men and women. We will be keeping a close eye on the ratios in the run up to GBSEx III and will look to ensure no more than 2 women for each man in every class. At the same time, if, on the day, you are not happy with the make-up of the class, you can swap your workshop ticket at Help Desk for another workshop, subject to availability.

Thank you for taking the time to participate!

All the feedback is read by GBSEx staff and an anonymised summary is sent on to all artists. We use it to help us make improvements to our next event.
